Failed iPhone wifi adapter chip?

Have an iPhone 6s that recently has stopped interacting w/my wifi The wifi is operating fine for an iPad & my wife's iPhone 6 plus for a wireless laptop & streaming TV I've tried all the potential software suggested fixes, such as restarting the network, restarting router & modem, etc.

It seems like this may be a failure in an internal wifi adapter chip Anyone else have this problem? Who can confirm this since local Apple store is still Covid-closed?

iPhone 6s, iOS 14
