iPhone is Disabled connect to iTunes

Does anyone know how I can fix this error? Husband in hospital in ICU on a respirator. Had a phone (iPhone 6S) in his room so kids could FaceTime, Zoom, etc. Apparently someone tried the password more than 10 times and locked it up. Message on the phone is iPhone disabled connect to iTunes. I did that but iTunes is not seeing the phone. Thanks so much for your help.
