I'm about to purchase a new iPhone 12 mini, the question if chose a carrier and got the iPhone for $699 instead of $729 will the iPhone be locked with my carrier, and if so for how long?

Be sure to contact the carrier before you purchase the iPhone and ask all those good questions about their policies relating to locked iPhones and how quickly can they be unlocked.
