Wifi connect everywhere but home

my wifi was working fine, but i was having problems with my internet at home, we fixed that and tried to put the ip address on my ipod so i can stay connected, however now it says safari cannot find the server, and i cant view the weather, youtube, mail or internet. When i left home, it immediately picked up someone else's network and i was back on. i cant get on wifi at home. anyone know what else can i do to get connected when im home
