The following steps may resolve this issue. Make sure your iPhone is up to date:


Update your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch


Restart both devices:


Restart your iPhone 

How to restart your Apple Watch


Then try updating over another network if possible. If you’re using a VPN or are on a captive or public network, disconnect from those and try once more:


Update your Apple Watch
