I have Garage Band on my Mac Laptop. I would like to know what this program is used for?
I play violin and I want to know if I can put chords a fiddle tune into Garage Band and pick instruments to play it. Then be able to practice along with it.

Yes, you can do that. If you download the loops, you might be able to have better accompaniment than just chords.
