Garageband for Mac

Hello - I have been using GB on both ipad and iphone, and really like the touch instruments. I have recently borrowed a Mac as I'm thinking of upgrading, but find that I don't have access to the touch/smart instruments. Is this because they aren't available on OS or is it that I just can't find them! I tend to use the autoplay function on the guitar smart instrument when I'm working out demos etc and would like to find this on Mac GB version if I can. I have the latest version of GB. Be great if anyone can help. Thanks
