PPM003 / PPM004 issue in MacBook Air

My MB Air couldn't upgrade the last Catalina OS version. It was cancelled and I cannot log in after this, no with old version or with setup program. If i ddrive diagnostic program, I'll get notice, that I can have problem with memory module with code PPM003 and extra code PPM004

My compu was doing well before trying update.

What to do?

Thanks

MacBook Air 13″, macOS 10.15

Hi! Thank you very much for answering.

On monday morning I got again help from Apple support and they were yet very friendly. They didn't suppose any hardware problem but they were supposing it's best to recall my old Catalina version and I got very good help for doing this (my first time to do this kind).

onboard memory error

You do not say what exact MBA this is— non the less RAM is soldered to the board

This would be a hardware issue out of your reach and would require service/assessment

Apple and their AST (Apple Service Toolkit) diagnostic is certainly more comprehensive than anything we can sort out here

In or out of warranty you can get a free over the counter 'Apple Service Diagnostics' test /assessment

Those codes are indicate of failure of your computer's memory chips, or possibly they are not seated properly. Updating the MacOS does not cause this, it's the memory chip(s) that are faulty, just using the computer (the update does intensively exercise the computer for a short time) will bring this out. This will also likely prevent your computer from booting or operating properly. It needs to be seen by an authorized Apple service person. If you are comfortable opening up your laptop

-- there are many small screws that require special tools and inside things are very tightly packed together (the Macbook Air is very thin) and can easily be dislodged if you are not careful, you will need to wear a grounding strap -- you can check that the memory is properly seated. Otherwise, it needs to be serviced by someone who is familiar with how to do this.

Thank you! I was getting help from support desk by phone on friday, because of my comp didn't start in the beginning. After this it seemed to be starting well and I did close the phone. But it didn't and after I got this message as said above and so the service phone was closed by the weekend. So I'll think I'm continuing with them on Monday, 'cause it seems that there is not easy way to do anything.

My comp is MacBook Air (13-inch, 2017), but they have been very familiar in the service, though the warranty is over.
