Email search not working

I would suggest a little more details in your posts.

However, I happen to know what you are talking about and offer a work around....

1) Open mail with the shift key down to open in safe mode. Then Close mail

2) Open Mail again with shift key pressed to open in safe mode.Then close Mail

3) Restart computer

4) Open Mai and try searching again... It should work now.

Note, this will only work for about a day before you have to repeat.

This problem and the "fixes" are something that Apple engineers should have addressed before releasing the update. I think they are all getting really sloppy and too self-important. Time for a shake-up!

After reinstalling and having a few weeks of fixed searching, I'm sad to announce that it is no longer working. I did the shift-start thing to get it back momentarily, but the reinstall is temporary fix also... just for a longer period of time.

Yes. It’s actually quite easy.

restart while holding down Command+R and then select reinstall Big Sur

afyer about 30-45 minutes, it should solve the problem. I did it about a week ago and search is working perfectly all the time now.

also, this will not lose any of your data, but as always, you should have a backup first.

Fixed for me after doing a command-R install!
