iPad Air shuts down

iPad shuts down when there is 50% battery life since last update. Have rebooted several times.

The symptoms that you describe suggest a failing or defective battery. Your best course of action is to directly contact Apple Support - and request a remote battery diagnostic. Your battery health can be remotely tested and appropriate advice provided.


The quickest and easiest method of contacting Apple Support is to use the Contact Support link at top-right of this page. Alternatively, the excellent Apple Support App can be used to initiate a support case; if not already installed on your iPad, it can be downloaded from the Apple App Store:

A further alternative is to take your iPad along to the Genius Bar at your local Apple Store - where the technicians will be able to test your iPad.
