Mail automatically auto responds to some email messages with a blank message. I do not have any auto responders set up. Problem started with 11.1. No problems on previous Big Sur installations. MacBook Pro (13-inch, 2020. Reinstalled the OS. Fixed permissions. Ran disk first aid. Apple has been no help so far.

Thank you. When I was in Gmail settings and changed my signatures somehow vacation response was turned on. Obviously User error.
I don't believe Mail Application is capable of any auto-responses.
These are typically set up using WebMail, interacting directly with your ISP mail servers, not with the Apple mail application.
Regardless, you should check the setting of webmail with your ISP servers to make certain no responses have been set by accident or "just because".
