Animations/general performance on Big Sur is slow, and almost unusable

Hi,

I recently updated to Big Sur, and my once super fast Mac now feels like a windows machine. It's a late 2020 Intel MacBook Pro 13 inch. Every animation, from minimizing a window to pulling up the notification bar runs at 20 fps or less and the computer generally feels like crap. I have reset NVRAM, re installed the OS, reset SMC and deleted my whole data and started again. None of this has worked in fixing the crap performance.

I don't know what the **** Apple is doing here. I spent nearly $2000 on this computer and it feels like my android from 5 years ago the way the animations work. Does anyone know how I might fix this? This is atrocious. The computer is almost unusable.

Also, how do I go back to Catalina? this update has been a nightmare.
