The statistics you ask about have not yet been published by Apple. They are completely irrelevant, because Apple Silicon is a completely new architecture, and any comparison would only be valid when made against the same architecture. In other words it is meaningless to try and compare with an Intel system, or any other processor type. It would be like trying to compare the power output from a jet engine and a Diesel engine.

Hey there CarlAVII! How are you? I’m wondering the same thing, and I’ve checked the link quite a few times, and nothing has been mentioned about the maximum clock time. Is there any way we could know? Thanks!

I read the article, thanks a lot! It did give me some info about the Mac, but not anything about the CPU’s clock time. I wish apple had disclosed the information on the laptop, but unfortunately they did not. Pretty disappointed because of that choice they made.

I do agree with what you’re saying, but comparing for future reference to give advice on which laptop to buy when talking to friends is something I do very usually, and since full details have not been released, it’s pretty disappointing.

I do agree with what you’re saying, but I wouldn’t like to have a CPU that has a base of 3.2 GHZ and a max of 3.9 GHZ. Not saying it will be 3.9 GHZ as it’s max clock rate, just an example of the high base clock rate, and a example of what could (but I don’t believe will) be the max clock rate.

The clock speed etc are irrelevant except for bragging rights in the pub. What really matters are the real world performance benchmarks which @woodmeister50 linked above.
