what is wrong if when your power adapter to your magnetic port start is plugged in while charging your batter and it start to smell after 5 minutes

what if when your 45w MagSafe 2 T-Tip power adapter is plugged into your magnetic port on your MacBook Air 13, 2017 while charging your battery light is amber after 3-5 minutes it starts to smell

Don't leave that Mac plugged in until you get it fixed.


The odor may be coming from the MagSafe connection, which is something you might be able to fix on your own. Periodic inspection and cleaning of that port and the MagSafe connector is required. Refer to Apple Portables: Troubleshooting MagSafe adapters - Apple Support. Steps 7 and 8.


If that is the source of the odor, the connection point will be hot.
