The touch function on my iPhone X stopped responding

Suddenly, the touch function on my iPhone X stopped responding to my touch(maybe it doesn't like me anymore). I can't swipe up/down, right/left. I can't answer incoming calls or messages. I tried turning the phone off but it will not allow me to swipe right to turn off or let me cancel. The phone is fully charged.

Lyssa, I appreciate your quick response and thank you for you suggested solution. I was prepared to take my phone in to have the display module replaced but thought I would attempt one more thing. I allowed the battery to completely drain then recharged the phone overnight. I was delighted this morning to find the touch function was working perfectly. I hope it stays that way.
