Muting microphone on AirPods Max

above Seems to be to mute from your phone but is there a way to mute on the AirPods max themselves? Like a button or gesture on the headphones themselves?

I’d like to see this feature too as I use mine constantly for conference calls.

A work colleague of mine suggested just buying a gamer headset like the SteelSeries ArcTis 7 has a mute button on the headset.

no idea why Apple didn’t add this when so many of us are working from home on zoom/conference calls with kids 😀
