App Clips Using Mic During Calls

I noticed an app was using my microphone when I was in call as indicated by the orange dot.

I checked app permissions and saw that App Clips was the only app that requested mic access.

However, I am not able to see which particular App Clip is accessing my microphone.

I recently paired an Apple Watch with my phone, so I can only assume this is the reason I’m being notified that App Clips is accessing my mic during a call. Does that sound right?

And why doesn’t App Clips show in the IPhone storage section? The only place I can find App Clips on my phone is in location permissions.

Hello RenfroSams,

Thanks for using the Apple Support Communities. We understand that you have concerns regarding App Clips. If you'd like more information about this feature check out, Use App Clips on iPhone.

You mentioned that you noticed the alert about the microphone being used while you were on a call. The most likely scenario here, is that your iPhone was simply identifying that your microphone was in use because you were on a call which requires the use of your microphone.

Best regards.
