mac mail won't come online for 1 ATT account

Mac book pro with Mojave, 1 mail account with att.net went offline and can't bring it online. indicates account or password problem but access to mail via ATT web works fine with password.

Other att email accounts i have work fine with the same imap/smtp settings.

Att after much discussion want to have me get on a $15 month support package, which i did not do, to fix this.

I have deleted and added the account back in on the Mac but to no avail ?

need some help since i think it is possible issue on the mac.

Note that i have not tried the att secure key since my mac is mojave and from what i have read supports OAUTH.

MacBook Pro 13″, macOS 10.14

All of my imap and smtp ATT settings have always been .mail.att.net not .mail.yahoo.com.

My other 4 use .mail.att.net and they work fine.

I am confused by this suggestion since all of my searching of ATT indicates att.net is the choice to use.

I did run my other email addresses via the link you gave above and they all come back indicating to use yahoo.com.

Do you or others have another suggestion ? note that i have not tried the ATT secure key yet.
