Trying to upgrade to Catalina from High Sierra on supported machine - not available

Hi

Not being a fan of the bleeding edge, but wanting to update, i would like to go from 10.13 --> 10.15 on my 2017 MacBook Air / 13 / i5. It has plenty of RAM and storage. (8/enough free)

  1. It does not show up in the app store (?!)
  2. If i search and find apple's instructions on hwo to download the installer and upgrade, i follow the link, open with App Store, and get th error "that product is not avaiable in the US store"

Help! This is needlessly difficult too....

TIA,

Does this link work for you? It should (assuming you’re in the U.S.):

MacOS Big Sur is no longer “bleeding edge”. It has been available for several months and undergone at least two revisions.
