Kensington ExpertMouse glitchy in Big Sur

My ExpertMouse was fine under Catalina - I used it without the KensingtonWorks software, but since upgrading to Big Sur, it's unusable. Mouse tracking and button response hangs for about a second every 15 seconds or so. Installing KensintonWorks has not resolved the issue.
