Your payment method was declined

Im really getting ****** off. I keep getting "Your payment method was declined" when I try to purchase an e-mail voucher for a friend. I have spent 2.5 hours trying to solve this, I know how much my friend would appreciate it else I would tell apple to get fu$%ed since getting help does not seem possible. I have tried 2 different accounts. I just want to buy a freaking voucher or punch an apple employee. Anyone know what is going on?

As someone who had to deal with this annoying problem (twice) in the past, all I have to say is that this problem usually resolves itself within 3 to 5 working days. Please be patient, everyone. The Apple support team cannot help on this matter, I had tried many suggestions (from changing the data in the bank to the point of me faxing the bank to change my data on their record exactly like I had written it), and nothing worked.


If I had to guess, the Apple customer care doesn't have the access to the iTunes "inner workings", and the team at iTunes / Appstore won't say anything if their payment validation system malfunctions.

I got a problem with a VISA Electron: After i bought Mountain Lion (3 weeks ago) , it worked fine, it installed and everything. Right after that, the account worked perfectly. The next day, up until now i keep getting the Payment Method Denied although everything is fine (haven't changed anything after the purchase). What should i do? [same card on Blizzard, same info, works perfectly]

i also having the same problem, all my info is correct for my mastercard but yet it still put "your payment is declined, please put another payment menthod" what is wrong with apple! i put extra money inside and yet is put this "there is a biling problem with a previous purchase, Please go to purchase history to correct the problem" anyone know how to fix this problem too!! my mastercard info is correct but still can save. somemore i try to find NONE but dont have. only got visa, mastercard or amex!!

You're right about the 'Please go to purchase history' thing. The even more fustrating thing, when I try to go to 'Purchase History', it comes up with a message saying 'Cannot connect to iTunes Store.'

I'm like, "WHA...?" WIFI IS ALL CONNECTED, EVERYTHING ELSE LOADS ON THE APP STORE, EXCEPT THE PURCHASE HISTORY. WHAT THE HECK IS APPLE'S PROBLEM!!? I honestly feel like throwing my iPod against the wall, stepping on it, smashing it into smithereens, and buying an Xperia phone. >:(

Same problem here from Greece.

My MasterCard worked fine before 2 days. I never had the same problem before.

For 2 days I try to update some apps and appstore need security code of my card. I set this and tells me that my payment method is declined.

I never had this problem since appstore began.

Apple please try a solution.

I live in India and I've been having this problem for a the past few days. I probably realised it later as I didn't purchase any new apps in quite some time. Two days back when I wanted to buy a song I was redirected to my Payment info page where it said that the payment method had declined. I filled in the correct info of my visa debit card multiple times and have been at it since the last 2 days, there has been no luck whatsoever. I changed my password, made changes to my address, tried every possible way, but nothing has worked. Even your solution has created some problems. I'm registered here in India and your solution is only for people in the USA. I'm just not able to change the country to India there. So that is a no go for me. I tried calling apple customer care here in India and no one picks up. I sent an email and yet there was no response. I'm beginning to get real worried now. I don't have a pc or a mac. I'm doing everything on an iPad and an iPhone. Please help. I'm considering making a new ID but I'm not sure whether I should do that. There must be a solution to this. I've been reading on communities and a lot of people all over the world are having this problem. A big thank you to anyone who comes up with a solution in advance.
