Hello everyone. Same problem for a week already. Finally decided to read a couple comments and try all the suggestions. I ended up calling my bank, telling them the problem. Their RESPONSE: Apple blocks credit cards, for our own security, so they can request it to unblock it again, since I called and requested it, and I'm the one using that account and that credit card. No fraud. So I have to wait 40/50 minutes untill trying again with my credit card. So, I hope it works!
Also, Im from South America, but maybe it works with your respective Banks.
Hay everyone,
I'm using Visa and have the same problem.
I just buy a 5th IGC, and when I try to buy the 6th it failed and says my payment method was declined. When I try to add my credit card again, it show wrong security number.
I sent some email to iTunes Support, and they promise me to fix the problem.
Hope its right.
I have the same problem it really starting to annoy me I thought I could fix it but I can't -.- I've had so many problems with my account I might just give up on apple products
Same issue too, started a week ago. trying to do free app updates and got this error, tried re-entering card details, restarted my ipod, changed my passwords aswell, still same error so gave up. What annoys me is 1. app updates shouldnt need my card information and also i realised i have $12 of store credit still. really annoyed coz now i cant buy any music either. at least im not the only one dealing with this!
Yes, you are not the only one, everyone who gives card to itunes that does not pass authorization has the same problem. Next part is hard to figure out why. Bank stops payments? Not enough funds to cover previous charge? Just no funds? Fix is easy and always the same - use another card. Make sure you enter correct address to a dot.
I have the same problem, I just bought an iPhone and started logging on it to download a free app, and that's what it said, but now when I log on to AppStore on my Macbook it says the same thing. I don't know why logging on to new devices would 'cause such compromising chaos, when all I wanted to do was download a free app. It's not even my bank or my account because I have used it a month ago with the same Apple ID and it worked, also with other payments as well, but it only happened when I tried logging on to my iPhone. How do I resolve this?
Changing to another card is not a fix, you're just ignoring the problem. Plus I only have one card, and I maintain my balance really well, so it shouldn't be the cause of this.

I don't think I am ingnoring the problem, I do not have it - you do. I do think you are ignoring good advice, but hey it is your life/account/problem/card.
it happened to me too
Same here too... I am freaking angry. Any idea how to resolve this problem 😟
It's happened to me a couple of times, nothing wrong with my card, but happens if I do an update while a purchase may still be processing.
I wait @ 24 hours and if still hasn't resolved itself, I find I have to go into iTunes Store via website NOT via any app on iPhone or ipad and if I reset my pay/ bank/card details it then clears .
Hope this helps
all you have to do is go to the payment info and select none and get a free app then go back into the payment info and select whatever you have and put all your info back and your good to go hoped this helped alot of people and have a good week!!!!!!😎
I figured it out. For some reason re-entering your credit card info via the iOS app store doesn't work. Go to itunes on your computer, then to the itunes store, then to your account, and THEN re-enter your card info THERE. FIXED!
I know this is 2 years late, but for those who only download free apps, you can go into Settings -> Itunes & App Stores -> Apple ID -> View Apple Id -> Payment Information -> Select "None". I haven't tried yet, but maybe changing it back to your original credit card information could fix the problem.
Hi sir,
