Your payment method was declined

Im really getting ****** off. I keep getting "Your payment method was declined" when I try to purchase an e-mail voucher for a friend. I have spent 2.5 hours trying to solve this, I know how much my friend would appreciate it else I would tell apple to get fu$%ed since getting help does not seem possible. I have tried 2 different accounts. I just want to buy a freaking voucher or punch an apple employee. Anyone know what is going on?

@ Brazil Nuts - I think you are on to something. I have been waiting for Apple to fix my problem for a month now and keep receiving emails from tehm asking me to be paitent. Anyway, I had a friend log on to my iTunes account and it worked perfectly, he was able to purchase music, etc. My question for you is, I've had my iPhone 3 and my home and laptop all embargoed with this credit card problem. If I get a new iphone 4 will it become blocked if I sync it with my home (embargoed) computer? Thanks for your help!

If I may jump back into the fray. BrasilNuts was spot on it seems for the info supplied. To answer your question, your iPhone4 should be okay to purchase as it never purchased before. I hardly ever purchased on my Mac Mini (used as a media center where the content was supplied to it via my MBP) and from it I could purchase normally. However, once I was blocked, I could not purchase from my MBP or iPad or iPhone. Now that I am unblocked I can purchase again. It appears that someone at Apple is sitting on your account. You might want to do what I did which is to create more than one trouble ticket and just continue to ask them to speak to a supervisor. Also, make sure they offer some sort of compensation.

Thanks Don, I am concerned that when I sync my new iPhone 4 with my desktop iMac somehow this iTunes embargo might get transferred to the new phone. From what you and Brazil nuts have said, it sounds like if I don't purchase any apps I shouldn't have a problem. Although, my phone isn't much good without apps, is it? Have they completely unblocked you account now? Thanks again

Still on the waitlist to get my account reset. More than 12 days now.

Liazndvk, your account will get blocked again only if you try purchasing apps. As long as you don´t purchase apps, you can update apps, get free apps and purchase (rent) everything else, movies, songs, and so on.

You may sync your devices and do anything else, but purchase apps.

I would suggest everyone having a problem, keeping it on the same thread as there are older threads on this becoming buried. There are some also on the Mac section.

Hi lizandvk,

Try what I did. I made a second trouble report and then sent them copies of thisnthread showing that they had a problem. After you make another trouble report you will most likely get a new person. Sent that person and the first person each a copy of this thread (link) and shown them that they are having issues. I did forward this issues ton some web blogs as well showing that Apple is having problems and for the most part ignoring some of their customers. I was lucky though. It only took a week to get mine fixed.

Good luck.

Forgive the cross posting, but this issue is being covered on three different threads.
I have a slightly different error message -- I am being asked to verify my billing info, but when I do I get an error saying that "Your request is temporarily unable to be processed". I don't consider 5 days to be temporary...
Here is my latest post to the other thread:
My iTunes account is totally frozen.
I cannot download anything -- not even app updates...
As useful responses to my original support request have stopped, I decided to submit a new support request (this seemed to work for another person posting on a related thread).
Interestingly, when I hit 'send' a new screen comes up saying only 'DB connection error'. No logos, no other text...
DB I assume means database.
I wonder if this issue is growing so quickly that the number of support requests has broken the support server...

@lizandvk, on another thread, a user told me he was successful with the workaround using iTunes 9XXX. He used a friend´s computer to unblock his account (confirming the code) and when he logged in to his computer he was able to do everything besides buying apps.
Understand your iPhone 4 needs apps, but at least you will be able to get the free apps until they fix it.
Maybe iTunes 10 is an issue after all.
Still waiting for customer service to unblock my account, 14 days. They do recognize there is a team working on this problem and I should have a solution in a couple of days for the last week.
