Apple TV HD and 4K models are rechargeable, simply connect the Lightning cable that shipped with the Apple TV to the remote and then to any USB connection that has power.
Well, no one has asked what version of the remote you are using. If it’s the black one with a touch pad the batteries are non-replaceable rechargeable type. There’s a lightning charge port on the bottom side.
