running out of space using final cut pro x - can't produce (share)

When using Final Cut Pro x, I am told that I don't have enough space when I try to produce a video. When I check to see what is using space, I see this (see below). How do I free up the space. I deleted all the files out of the Untitled library in Final Cut Pro, but I still don't even have 1 GB of free space:

Open your library in Final Cut Pro.

Select the library in the browser sidebar and go to File->Delete Generated Library Files...

Check all the boxes, including all render files.

Quit FCP and see how big the file is now.

Be surprised 😎

After you have done as I said before, you can take measures to help this not happen again:

1) Go to Preferences->Import and UNcheck both boxes under "Transcode". Creating optimized and proxy media uses a LOT of space and you almost need that; if you do you can create it later.

2) Go to Preferences->Playback and UNcheck "background render". Again, usually not needed, and you can render manually if needed for smooth playback.
