deinstall Amazon Photos.app

I am trying unsuccessfully to deinstall Amazon Photos.

In the Activity Monitor, I highlight Amazon Photos, next I hit the circle X icon in the Activity Monitor, then hit Quit. After that, from Go>Applications, I right-click Amazon Photos. app and click 'Move to Trash" Finally, Finder gives me a message box stating 'The item "Amazon Photo.spp" can't be moved to the Trash because it's open.' Please advise.

Boot into Safe Mode by booting with the Shift key held down and delete the app from there.  Then reboot normally.

NOTE: Safe Mode boot can take up to 10 minutes as it's doing the following;

• Verifies your startup disk and attempts to repair directory issues, if needed

Loads only required kernel extensions (prevents 3rd party kernel/extensions, i.e. apps, from loading)

• Prevents Startup Items and Login Items from opening automatically

• Disables user-installed fonts

• Deletes font caches, kernel cache, and other system cache files
