On a Mac how do I stop Music app from autoplaying a wav download?

I frequently download .wav files for music recording to be used in Logic. These are attachments on emails or links on websites that I'm downloading to my hard drive to open with music editing software (Logic). Every time I download one to my computer the Music app automatically opens it, downloads it to my music library and then starts to play the file... Not what I want and annoying. I don't want these in my listening library and I don't need the Music app open. I don't see anything in the Music app settings or System Settings to turn the "autodownload/autoplay" off. What am I missing? Using macOS Big Sur on a 2020 iMac.

Click on one of the downloaded wav files to select it.

Right click on the selected file and from the drop down menu choose Get Info

When the Get Info Pane opens, click on the Open With drop down and select the app you want those types of file to open with.

You'll see an option to make that app the default app that opens those files.
