US Apple watch series 6/ SE cellular version in India?

Hi,

This is a question that's been doing rounds since last 3-4 years. I came to know that US Apple watch wouldn't work in India since spectrum band required for India is not supported by US version Apple watch.

However, for series 6 and SE, there are lot of common bandwidths like 2100, 1900, 1800, 850 supported by both US and Indian version of Apple watches.

and carriers like JIO and AIRTEL in India uses 850 and 1800 Mhz.

Shouldn't the US version of series 6 and SE work in India??

Kindly help.

There are 2 Apple Watch cellular radios

• Canada, U.S. Mexico, Puerto Rico

• The rest of the world

Carriers will not attempt to connect to an Apple Watch that does not use the correct radio.

If you do not get your Apple Watch in your own country, you may have to return the Apple Watch to the country where purchased to get warranty service.

If you do not get your Apple Watch in your own country, there may be country specific restrictions in the installed Apple Watch software that prevent features from working when you get home.

And there are 2 radios because a full spectrum radio chip is larger and more power hungry. Using 2 separate radio chips saves space and power.
