Activation lock

I’ve brought a second hand iPhone for my daughter the old owner had reset it but not logged out of find my iPhone so it’s asking me for an activation code

Contact them to have them remove it. If they can’t or won’t, ask for your money back. In situations like this, is is possible that you purchased a stolen phone. Get your daughter a phone she can use from Apple or an authorized retailer.
