Photo date is changed when adding to Shared Album

I created a Shared Album with about 100 photos, dating back to 1983. I had them in their own album, in date order, then did select all and added to a shared album. One photo from 1987 had it's date changed to the date of moving the photos into the shared album and it now appears as the last photo in the album.

I deleted all of the photos, then went back and added them one at a time (thanks for the extra available time Covid!)...same thing, date changed to date of transaction!

I know shared albums will display the photos in the order added; but what could be happening with this particular photo?

If you want to more control over the photos in Shared albums, you may want to upgrade to macOS 11 Big Sur. On the older system versions Photos has intentionally stripped the metadata from the photos (locations, dates, titles) to protect the privacy and prevent us from sharing accidentally more information than intended.

This has changed in macOS 11 Big Sur. Photos seems now to preserve the metadata when sharing photos and is allowing us to sort shared albums.
