Adding some photos to shared albums changes their date of creation.

Why are some of the photos that I add to shared albums change their creation date to the date they were added?

like for example, I add 500 photos from a trip a few weeks ago to a shared album, and then I see that the photos are kind of shuffled around in the shared album. So I sort by old to new, and some of the earliest photos and others end up at the bottom (newest) of the album and looking at their data shows they were taken today even if they were not. Even smaller loads of photos added at once ends up with this and it’s different photos that get this each time. Sometime it creates a random date for a photo, although this is rare

this is getting very frustrating. This is is happening across multiple devices and different albums as I’ve tried, devices like a M1 Mac Air, iPhone 13ProMax, iPhone 12 and an iPhone X, and the web version of iCloud.

They are already in Apple Photos as they were taken with the camera of the same iPhone. So I select the photos I want, tap the share icon, and select “add to shared album” and I go from there. Once the photos are in that shared album, some of them have dates altered to the date they were added to the shared album instead of the date they were taken on

The same thing is happening to me and it's incredibly frustrating. Here's my process on my Mac M1, 2020, macOS Ventura 13.5.1:

  1. Download photo from FB
  2. Import photo into Apple Photos (here the date is the date it was uploaded, that makes sense)
  3. I select the photo -> Image -> Adjust Date and Time -> Enter the date the photo was taken
  4. Add to Shared Album

I did this for 9 photos and it worked great. Then the last 3 have not been working.

Here are the troubleshooting steps I have taken:

  1. Confirm that the date of the photo was changed before adding to Shared Album. Each photo has the updated Date and Time in the Imports and Library tabs of Apple Photos.
  2. I created a non-Shared Album and added them there and that worked. They have the updated Date and Time.

It's only when added to the Shared Album do the photos' Date and Time revert. I even tried adding them to the Shared Album from the Non-Shared Album but that resulted in them reverting in the Shared Album as well.

I'm very confused why it worked for some but not all. If anyone has any way to help, I would be very grateful. Thank you for taking the time to assist!
