Error message: ImageCaptureCore error -9912

I get this error message when trying to download images from canon camera:

ImageCaptureCore error -9912

MacBook Pro 13″, macOS 10.15

  1. Disconnect the cable from the camera and the iMac.
  2. Remove the camera card from the camera, as per the instructions.
  3. Plug the camera card into the iMac's SD card reader slot or a USB card reader.
  4. Import the photos from the camera card into Photos or whatever Photo software you use.
  5. Eject and remove the camera card from the iMac's or USB card reader slot and return it to the camera.
