Apple Music playlists not recognised on Alexa dot
How do I get Alexa dot to recognise apple music playlist names?
How do I get Alexa dot to recognise apple music playlist names?
I figured it out with the help of Amazon (not Apple.who was useless) - Alexa will NOT find the playlist IF IT'S A SMART PLAYLIST....you have to create manual playlists. And then it will play them via voice commands, just using the name of the playlist. I just tested it with like 5 different playlists of my own. Just say "play so and so" and that's all. And make sure Apple is your default service.

Hi gopesh160,
We understand you're experiencing some problems playing music with Alexa, and we're happy to help. To clarify, do you currently have Apple Music set up as your default music service for Alexa, or are you asking for the playlist "on Apple Music"? The resource below includes some additional steps we think will help. Let us know how it goes!
Have a great day!
Hi Laura, I think the problem is not to do with the master Apple Music subscriber, but when asking Alexa to play a manual built playlist from one of the apple family member subscribers, which Alexa doesn’t consider in the mix...
I've done all the steps, Apple Music is my default provider, authorized access, etc. All of it. And it says "can't find that playlist on Apple Music."
Am I supposed to phrase it another way? It's my OWN playlist, using my music I've bought.
Hi,
I had Apple Family Music subscription and made Apple the default on the echo dot device. When asking Alexa to play a playlist from a family member of the Apple Family subscription, it would not recognise any family member playlists, only the main playlist of the primary music account holder.
So, question is, can Alexa echo devices only recognise the playlist from the primary Apple Music Family subscription member, or should it also recognise the playlists of associated Apple Music family members?
thanks
Oh, sorry, that I don't know anything about. I just know that if it's a Smart Playlist, Alexa isn't going to find it regardless of who's it is and the family subscriber situation. Good luck!
