Two HDMI (HD or 4K) devices: one connected via HDMI and one connected via Mini DisplayPort with an HDMI adapter.

I am trying to connect 2 tv displays to my Mac Pro late 2013. I bought a cal digit from Apple but it has to be connected to thunderbolt 3 input on the Mac. This model has TB2 inputs. I was then told to purchase an adapter from TB3 to USB but that didn't work. Does anyone know where to purchase the adapter mentioned above or figured out a way to connect more that 1 display to this model computer that works?

Mac Pro, macOS 10.14

As far as I know you should be able to use Thunderbold 2 for this. A Thunderbold 2 or Mini DisplayPort to HDMI should do the trick. I would suggest a HDMI to Mini DisplayPort adapter.

This is the one Apple sells: https://www.apple.com/shop/product/HHLN2ZM/B/belkin-4k-mini-displayport-to-hdmi-adapter?fnode=7e0ba63a9d5b459eedb6361ec933d4612607180bf37a015c23295edfc4f7ac7713b7cfd68195de5f16e3f6bb02b4a344f6ac975d8da69fd28e0c83b5ce4d03bec63e0ab45e5d4c31c0c6fd87c700395f7b4cd3041edcb44ea9ec9b970a0c095d7316d2628520299274625e02699b6fe0&fs=f%3Dminidisplayport%26fh%3D4595%252B3073

Here is where Apple says that Thunderbold 2 can be used for video with Mini DisplayPort: https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT201736

""Thunderbolt and Thunderbolt 2 are not the same as Mini DisplayPort . They have the same shape, but use different symbols on the cable and port. However, this port does support Mini DisplayPort for video output, so you can use a Mini DisplayPort cable to connect a Mini DisplayPort display.""
