After a few days of using my new iPhone 12 I noticed while in sunlight that it had a weird horizontal line at the bottom part of it.
You would notice it even with the phone turned off.
I haven't dropped it, nor it has any sign of a crash on it.
Why wouldn't you backup to iCloud? It's free.
The Apple Store will not likely backup your data If you need a replacement phone, you'll need to backup to the cloud to restore to a replacement device. Backing up your data is your responsibility, to be honest.
Without seeing what you're referring to, if you think there is an issue with your phone, schedule an appointment at your Apple Store Genius Bar and show it to them.
