iPhone 12 mini is really hot when charging.

I’ve seen a few comments about this already but thought I would also just mention it. My iPhone 12 mini gets really hot when charging. It’s not over charging, it’s just charging a flat battery. All genuine apple products, USB-C to lightning charger and the 20W wall charger.

I understand that more power would mean a hot battery but it seems like a lot of heat. Is it meant to get that hot? Do I go back to a 5W charger?

Hello Cruizerdog,

We understand that your iPhone is getting warm while charging, and we'd like to share a resource that can help you isolate this behavior. Get started here: Keeping iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch within acceptable operating temperatures

If your device gets too warm you'll notice specific symptoms that let you know your iPhone is regulating its internal temperature. Unless you see this behavior, or a temperature warning screen, you shouldn't have to worry.

Take care.
