RAW Files from Fuji X-Pro 3 in Photos

It is hard to see, that Apple do not support the Fuji X-Pro 3 or the Fuji XT-4 Raw files under Big Sur! I cannot understand, what‘s Apple idea behind that. Did anyone has an idea, how to solve this problem? I do not want use an additional program, thanks,

I bet it's because of the x-trans sensor type. They would have to develop a specialized algorithm to de-mosaic a file from a fuji. Most cameras use a bayer sensor layout. Fuji uses x-trans. It has it's plusses and minuses. Plus, it's much better about not getting moire in images with heavy patterning. Minus, software that works on other raw files has to be rewritten.

Dear Graig, yes the special sensor is a problem. But Apple has released RAW from other Fuji cameras, which also use X-Trans. Also the new Fuji X-T100V, which is identical sensor type with the one from the X-Pro 3 or XT-4, was realised for Photos. That is what me makes wonder, why Apple not do the job for all of the new cameras.

So you mean, there is hope? I wish there was, because I like the App on my Mac. It is fast and clean in design. I do not need RAW much often, but sometimes it is needed, especially when I shoot concerts or old ruins, which should be turned into black and white. To switch between Capture One and Photos is so stupid and I will simplify my workflow ASAP. And at least, the App is for free, while for others you have to pay. Not one time, again and again...

I don't think the feature set of Photos and CaptureOne are remotely comparable, but if it works for you well and good. And there is a buy-once licence available for CaptureOne and, indeed, almost all the other major Raw apps. Adobe (who make the Lightroom/Photoshop suite) are just about the only major developer who are subscription only.
