Am I ruining my iPod battery?

Hi everyone, I have a iPod classic 160gb and a Bose sound dock digital music system but my concern is whenever it's on the dock then it charges and worried about damaging the battery as always full or charging but I really enjoy listening to my music from my Bose as they are the best so please let me know if I am ruining my iPod battery by doing this or not?

That shouldn't be a problem. Unlike older NiCd batteries the LiPo battery in the iPod classic doesn't suffer from memory effects associated with keeping the battery near full charge for long periods. The charging circuit in the device should prevent overcharging. The worst thing for the classic battery is leaving it fully discharged for long periods. If you're planning to store it unused for any period of time you ideally want it to be at about 50% charge first.

I have the same set up (sounddock 1 and sounddock 2) with iPod classic.

What I did was - I ordered few power switches, like this.

In case I will be out of town (not these days) for a while and this kind of set up gave me some peace of mind.

However, Bose Sounddock 1, when starts from power up cycle, the volume can be quite high. I have to turn it down before start my iPod. Sounddock 2 does not have this issue.
