What happens to the remainder of my free 1 year of Apple TV if I subscribe to Apple One Family?

I've got 8 months left in a 1 year free trial that came with the recent purchase of my Apple MacBook Pro. I am interested in Apple One Family, but I get conflicting information from various people at Apple regarding what happens to my free trial period when I sign up. I understand clearly what would happen if I was already PAYING for Apple TV+ but this is not that situation. Some Apple people tell me all of Apple One will be free until my free period ends, others say my free period ends the moment I sign up for Apple One. If it's the latter, it seems I am going to be forfeiting my free trial period if I subscribe now instead of waiting for the end of my free trial... a clear disincentive for me to go ahead and sign up now and rather an incentive to wait, which hardly seems to make sense from Apple's point of view. Do I have this wrong?

See if anything here helps. From the article below.

Apple One includes a free 1-month trial for services that you don’t already have. After your free trial, services that you previously subscribed to are automatically included in Apple One. If you recently canceled a service, you might not be eligible for the free trial. Your plan automatically renews after the trial.

You are welcome. Apple doesn’t routinely monitor the discussions. These are mostly user to user discussions.

If you want to, you can send Apple feedback. They won't answer, but at least will know there is a problem or a suggestion for change. If enough people send feedback, it may get the problem/suggested change solved sooner. Pick the closest topic you can find.

Eric... thx for tryig, but that does not quite answer it. I’ve got Apple TV+ free until August. I don’t want to lose the value of those months. Why would anyone convert something that is free for a material # of months into something they pay for? Seems strange and I can’t seem to get a consistent written answer from Apple on this.

The last I heard form Apple - it gets rolled into your AppleOne subscription, which you start paying for (meaning you effectively surrender the free months remaining on your complimentary year.). I reiterate - if anyone if AppleOne product management is reading this - DUH.... This is a disincentive to subscribe NOW. (which I would likely do, but the principle bugs me). Someone should figure this out given the number of promotional years that are out there due to equipment purchases.
