I just got a brand new Apple Watch series 5. It will not pair with my IPhone 11. It says there is an update for the watch and when I try to continue with the update it says there is no internet connection which I am at home on my WiFi

I just got a brand new Apple Watch series 5. It will not pair with my IPhone 11. It says there is an update for the watch and when I try to continue with the update it says there is no internet connection which I am at home on my WiFi. What should I do?
