External Monitor Flickering on my new MBP

So i just got my new 16" MBP (Catalina) and for some reason whenever i connect my Dell monitor, my screen is flickering constantly https://imgur.com/a/czR6Jd1

however, I don't really have this problem in my work laptop (15" Mojave) and I use the same dongle and everything. I already restarted my computer several times and tried to play around "automatic graphics switching" as ive seen online but no luck :(
