Alternative to the iPhone for running

I used an iPod shuffle for years and then it was discontinued and mine would intermittently go in and out, I believe because of the earbud connection. Is there another alternative to having music other than using the iphone? I find it difficult to hit the buttons to skip, fast forward, play again, etc even carry it...too bulky. Are other folks having that same frustration ? BRING BACK THE SHUFFLE WITH A BLUETOOTH CONNECTION FOR WIRELESS EARBUDS!!
