Can’t activate phone

I have an iPhone 8+

I changed service providers 3 days ago from Optus to Aldimobile. But now I don’t have any service, it pops up with a message saying iPhone isn’t activated. I’m not locked to Optus & my new aldi sim works in other phones.

Ive tried what Apple suggests but I still have no luck... what can I do?

Just FYI, it is not your SIM card that gets locked to a carrier (that is why it works on other phones) but it is actually the iPhone that gets locked to a carrier. If your iPhone is locked to a particular carrier then only that carrier's SIM card will work. All others' SIM card and service will fail.

You stated that your iPhone is carrier unlocked so the above may not apply to you. What do you see on your screen when you attempt to activate your iPhone?

Apple just suggests that I restart my phone or that I try to activate it via a computer with updated Mac iOS or iTunes. Neither have worked.

Yeah I got Optus to check whether my phone was locked to them & it wasn’t.

Yes I have put the new sim in & yes it is active, if I have it in another phone I can make calls & text.

When I put the new sim in it just comes up with a message saying iPhone isn’t activated, try again later or if it continues to happen contact your carrier. I have contacted Aldi but because the sim works in other phones they say it’s the handsets problem & won’t help me.
