Apple watch won’t pair to peloton bike+

When I try and pair my watch series 6 to my peloton bike+, my watch wont give me the on-screen prompt to ‘connect’.

instead, my watch asks me to select a workout. The bike wont display my heart rate or push any data to peloton.

how can I fix this?

Today, I went on chat. He ran me through all these steps:

1. Power down your Bike's touchscreen by pressing and holding the power button. Skip to step 2 if unable to power down the touchscreen.

2. Unplug the power cord from the back of the Bike, and the two cords from the back of the touchscreen.

3. While the Bike is unplugged, press and hold the volume up and the power button at the same time for 30 seconds.

4. Keep the Bike unplugged for at least 1 full minute.

5. Plug the cords back in, and press and hold the power button until the screen illuminates.

  1.  Tap the WiFi icon on the top right of your HD Touchscreen and select "Settings" from the dropdown menu.
  2. From the new menu, select "Apps."
  3. Tap the "Peloton" app from the list of applications.
  4. "Force Stop" the application, then select "Storage", then "Clear Cache."
  5. Power off your HD touchscreen by holding the power button at the top of the touchscreen, then power it back on.

These did not correct the connection problem with Bike+ and Apple Watch. He did inform me That they are aware of the problem & are working to correct this.

It happened the same to me as well. Which mean that we have to recalibrate each time we turn in the bike+. I was running across one of the post that he/scheduled spoke to the Peloton support team suggested that recalibrate your bike all the time is not good for the bike. They will send the issue to the Peloton engineer team. Hopefully this issue will be taken care soon.

I just got a response from Peloton... here their suggestions: (I haven’t tried yet, I’ll do it as soon as I got back home)

Thank you for contacting Peloton!

In order to reconnect your Apple Watch to your Bike+, you will need to first restart your Apple Watch and then perform a factory reset on your Bike+.

To factory reset your touchscreen, please follow the steps below:

1. Tap the time on the top right of your touchscreen and select “Settings” from the dropdown menu.

2. From this screen you will need to select "System"

3. Select “Factory Data Reset” and then “Reset Tablet.”

4. Confirm the selection by selecting “Erase Everything.”

Once completed, you will have to sign back into your network and download the most recent update again.

Please let us know if this resolved the issue, we look forward to hearing from you!

Yea... glad I’m not the only one who has that problem. Recalibrate worked only until next day when I turned it back on, watch is not connecting again. Also glad I came here and found out it’s not good to keep recalibrating, so I will stop trying. I only did it once and it worked until I turned off the machine.

sounds like a minor problem peloton probably will fix it in next update. They updates quiet often.. everything worked fine until the last update like everyone said.

I reached out to Peloton today via their chat support feature. They gave me a series of things to do on the bike which I think de-installed the recent update and possibly reverted to the prior one. However, I haven’t tested it yet. I was going to copy and paste their instructions here for everyone but the chat got erased before I could copy them. Has anyone else reached out to Peloton via chat?

It only works when you recalibrate, but if you power off the bike and turn it back on again it won’t work. So that means you have to recalibrate each time in order for it to work. Peloton support suggests not to recalibrate the bike all the time it’s not good for the bike in the long run. My only hope is to wait for the peloton engineer team to work to resolve this problem.

I tried a couple of procedures, but they only worked temporarily. The procedure that really fixed my connectivity issue between Peleton+ and Apple Watch is called the Static Discharge procedure, which was given to me by the Peleton rep (below). I applied this procedure six weeks and I have not observed any further issues. Here it is:

Have you tried the "Static Discharge procedure"? It was given to me by the Peleton rep and it worked very well for me. Good luck
