IPhone 12 brightness

the brightness on my iPhone 12 is dull. I’ve seen this on a few iphone 12pros. All setting have been checked (eg True Tone , factory reset etc) I even had apple replace it but still the same on new phone. The only thing that seems to help is turning off auto brightness which makes the screen much better... BUT apple doesn’t recommend this as a long term fix and I miss the auto dimming feature. Anyone else noticed this is a fault only on iphone 12s. Had lots of previous iPhones and this is the only one with issue
