Why does Zoom open when I click on the phone icon in contacts?

Trying to make a call using the "phone" button in Contacts. When I do

so, Zoom opens (and no call gets placed. What's up with that?

It's 18 months on and Zoom still haven't fixed this. Catalina; MBP16".

Have to de-install Zoom to restore the behavior back to to Contacts to call a phone number using your linked (i)phone.

Annoying, especially in this age of zoom.
