Connect broken iphone to mac?

I occasionally like to look back at my old phones to see my messages and photos. I have an old iPhone, pretty sure it's a 6S. The iPhone screen is broken and the iPhone in unresponsive; I get no response from any buttons, or any buzz. However, when I do charge it, and connect it to iTunes, it will open up iTunes and iPhoto.

Here's my problem: I first get the iTunes prompt: "Do you want to allow this computer to access information on “______ iPhone”?

I click continue, but then I get the next prompt: "To allow access, please respond on your iPhone..."

there's the problem...I can't respond on my iPhone because the screen/phone is broken. I can't type in my code. and although iPhoto will open up and say "Loading..", my old pictures won't load. I'd imagine they won't load until I type in my iPhone code.

Look, I know this phone is broken. I'm not trying to revive it, I'd just like to see my old messages and old photographs/videos saved on it. How do I get past this issue?

*I've tried holding the Home button for Siri but got nothing

*It's not that important at the moment to go buy a keyboard or go visit the genius bar

Is there really no way to get into the phone using my computer, which is the same computer I've always used for it when it was my actual phone?

Thanks for your help.
