airpods won't stay connected to PC

I have airpods that I would like to be able to connect to my PC for use in video confercing. I was able to reset the airpods and connect to my iphone and then also pair and connect to my PC. I had to shut off my bluetooth on my iphone to allow the airpods to connect with my PC and it does pair and initially connect. After about 5-10 seconds the connection between the PC and airpods ends suddenly and without notice. I am using my standard bluetooth connection from my Lenovo PC and I have had other bluetooth devices be able to pair and stay connected, but the airpods will NOT stay connected. Please advise any resolutions - BUT do not say to reset the airpods as I have already done that twice.
