Magnets on iPad

I just got a new case for my iPad and it has a flap that is supposed to magnetically stick to the front and it doesn’t and I was wondering if it would be bad to put a few extra magnets on it to help it stick. I thought I would ask because I don’t want to damage my iPad

Adhering additional magnets to the cover or iPad may interfere with the Auto Lock function of the iPad - the closure of the cover bringing a specially placed magnet into proximity of a sensor embedded in the edge of the iPad screen.

The magnet/sensor position varies between different models of iPad; cases that use this function are explicitly designed for a single model of iPad.

I am really not sure,

If you use one of those very thin strip magnets, you can purchase online or from an office supply store, that maybe okay.

Those are fairly weak magnets.

You can always test by temporarily putting one of strips on the case, temporarily, with adhesive tape and test to see if any thing is affected on your iPad before permanently affixing the magnet to the case.
