Widgets for Pages?

I would like to upgrade my almost new MacBook Air, but I understand that it would no longer be able to run iBooks Author. The book that I had just finished uses widgets. I don't want to give up the widgets. The only way I would now consider upgrading my computer is if I become willing to use my old, slow Mac with broken screen for iBooks Author.

If Pages would support the widgets, I will upgrade my computer. How will I know if there is an update to Pages to support the widgets? Maybe I will reluctantly upgrade and hopefully see an update to Pages, while being willing to use my old Mac that needs to be plugged in all the time and has the cracked screen for books. That doesn't help others who don't have an old spare Mac.

If you already had iBooks Author prior to Aug 1, 2020, then I can report that it still works just fine on macOS 11.1 (Big Sur). With Pages v10.3.5 (current as of 2020-12-29), Apple has not retrofitted Pages with Ibooks Author widgets, and there is an article discussing what happens when an iBooks Author document is imported to Pages.

Thank you for this. I will update my os soon. I had read the article that said the contents of the widgets would go into separate files, but my understanding was that iBooks Author would no longer work under Big Sur.

it sounds like there will be time to wait to see if pages gets the widgets someday. I imagine someday iBooks Author will stop working. Hopefully at least will have until next year os update and hopefully pages will have widgets. Thanks again.
